Bob the Turkey, by Perri Dean

Posted on November 23, 2022August 22, 2023 by Payton Dean

Please enjoy this fun Thanksgiving writing by my 10 year old daughter, Perri!

Bob the Turkey

It was just a regular day. I woke up in a secret spy station. Me and my best turkey ever (we call him R.T. for Roasted Turkey.. whatever that means). R.T. said we were kidnapped, but I never saw any kids napping, so I think he is lying.

“I like the smell,” I responded. “It smells yummy!”

“Um, Bob, that’s George… OUR TURKEY FRIEND!” R.T. shouted.

“Oh,” I said. “I was totally not smelling George…”

Well, I never knew a turkey friend could smell so good.

Then a tall turkey with muscles that looked at me and R.T. smiled and said, “Gotcha!”

My question is, who is “Gotcha”? I was just smelling my turkey friends, which I never knew could smell so good.

Me and R.T. hid in a small box with a door. And guess what! I heard a tall girl turkey say, “Wanna hit the gym?” Like, who is Gym? And what did he do to you for you to want to hit him? These tall turkeys are crazy.

We left the box with a door and went to a place with lots of sticks that shoot out smaller sticks.

R.T. said those are what killed George! Then we ran and ran and ran until we got out.

There was this smaller turkey. I named her Baby Turkey. Boy, could she run. It felt like 2,000 miles that I gobbled my way out of! She was fast and furious.

Then, we ran into Forrest. I call him Forrest Gump. Like that guy that kept running. Yea so then we ran behind a tree and I felt tickling in my feathers. Next thing you know, I fell asleep.

I woke up in a heated box with a clear door. I smelled something burning…

“AHHH!” I gobbled. A sharp tool!

BRRRR, it’s very cold! Oh! I’m dead in Mike’s Country Store. Great. I wonder how much I am?

Oh, I’m on sale for $10.95! Well, I hope those tall turkeys like me!

Happy Thanksgiving!
