God, Redefined. Word for 2022.

Posted on March 2, 2022March 2, 2022 by Payton Dean

I am waiting to be redefined by you. – God

I know it’s March already, but I am sharing in faith what I have recorded the Holy Spirit speaking over His people for the year 2022.

For many, experiencing the Lord was birthed from places of pain. With that often being the primary way we accessed intimacy with Him, the perception of God among many has become limited. God desires to show us this year that He is not limited to only interacting with us through pain, anxiety, and moments of desperation. While God is and will continue to be an ever-present help in times  of trouble…. He wants us to know this year that He is so much more!

I am giving you the privilege of knowing Me better.

No longer will you only associate Me as help in hardship.

We will bond over more than just your pain.

The thought of My presence will not be defined only by how you experienced Me in your limits, lack, or heartache. While I will continue to be present in all these ways, your vision will be broadened to see more because I am more. Like you, I desire to be known beyond the “boxes” you have put Me in.

You will find me in lighthearted, less serious adventures.

I will be defined as a source of pleasure; present in the small things that aren’t so heavily weighed. You will get to see the more playful side of Me. Experience joy!

You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of Your presence
and the pleasures of living with You forever.

Psalm 16:11

NLT

You will notice the focus of your prayers changing.  Your approach to our interactions will come from your contentment and confidence in Who I am, unlocking your ability to know Me better.

The focus will be less about your worries and more about confessing My power, authority, and strength- or any quality of Mine.

I have always been committed to your freedom.

Because freedom has been unfamiliar territory to you, I am teaching you how to live there.

You have lived according to what was familiar to you for so long, but now you are ready to adapt to My culture. In the place of freedom, you’ll learn My language: the truth.

Worship Me in truth.

But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:23-24

Something God revealed to me is that to worship Him in truth, I must also acknowledge what is true about my identity in Him as well.

What we believe about ourselves reflects what we believe is true of God.

Be carefully committed to identifying and disconnecting from the frequent and familiar language of Satan all around you & even in your heart: lies and fear, so that My voice can be more easily identified.

Ask Me who I am. I dare you!

The more you know Me, the more you’ll know the real you.

With love,

Payton

You’re familiar with my lack; You’re familiar with my pain. You’re familiar with my grief; You’re familiar with my shame. You’re familiar with my life-You’ve heard my same old song. Now You’ve given me a new one. Help me sing along! You know all about me. Now it’s my turn to know You! Not just as the Rescuer, But as my Friend too. You’re my Help when I’m in trouble; You’re my strength when I am weak. But tell me more about You in ways that don’t relate to me. What do You find funny? Speak in parables if You must. What’s Your favorite landmark? Or topic to discuss? I can’t wait to hear from You. I want You to speak freely. It seems the more I know You…The more I know me.
